How Much Does a Donation Kiosk Cost? 2026 Pricing From 9 Vendors

Real numbers from nine kiosk vendors, verified June 2026: hardware from $129 to $5,799, software from $0 to $299 per month, and the three-year math most pricing pages hide.

Your board signed off on a lobby kiosk last month and asked you to come back with a budget line. Two evenings of searching later, you still cannot pin down a real donation kiosk cost: every "complete guide" repeats the same "$1,500 to $5,000+" range, usually published by a general-purpose kiosk manufacturer that has never sold a donation product. The vendors you actually shortlisted are not much better. Some gate pricing behind a demo call. Others quote a friendly monthly fee and leave the platform percentage that comes out of every gift in the fine print.

Here is what nine vendors actually charge, pulled from their public pricing pages and verified June 2026, plus the three-year math that the per-month sticker hides. (If you are still deciding whether a kiosk makes sense at all, start with what a donation kiosk is and come back.)

What does a donation kiosk cost in 2026?

A donation kiosk has three price tags, and vendors rarely show all of them on the same page:

  1. Hardware, paid once. Verified prices run from $129 for iChessed's entry device to $5,799 for SecureGive's largest kiosk. Most purpose-built lobby units fall between $999 and $1,499.
  2. Software, paid monthly. From $0 to $299 per month, billed per organization or per device depending on the vendor.
  3. Per-gift fees. Card processing (roughly 2% to 2.7% plus a few cents) and, at several vendors, a platform fee of 1.75% to 3% stacked on top of it.

Every figure below comes from the vendor's own public pricing page or site, verified June 2026. Full source links are listed at the end of this post.

GivingFire$1,499 per kiosk (GivingFire site, verified Jun 2026)No monthly fee on its bring-your-own-hardware planNot published

Two rows deserve a flag before anything else. Donorbox publishes its kiosk software pricing but not its hardware: Live Kiosk hardware bundles are quote-gated behind a sales conversation, so any dollar figure you have seen for a Donorbox kiosk device did not come from Donorbox. And iChessed and Donatefy publish no transaction fees at all, which makes their true per-gift cost impossible to compare until you ask.

Why does every article say $1,500 to $5,000?

Because most of those articles are written by kiosk enclosure manufacturers. They quote custom-fabricated hardware built for retail check-in and quick-service ordering, then bolt the word "donation" onto the headline. Among the nine vendors above, only SecureGive's top configurations reach into that range; every other verified hardware price sits between $129 and $1,499. If a quote lands well above $1,500 for a single lobby unit, you are probably paying for custom fabrication a donation kiosk does not need.

How much is donation kiosk hardware?

The verified June 2026 prices sort into three tiers.

Tablet-class devices: $129 to $690. iChessed sells devices from $129 to $690 (ichessed.com, verified June 2026), and Kind Kiosk runs $299 to $599 per device (kindkiosk.com/pricing, verified June 2026). These are typically consumer tablets in secure enclosures: cheap to buy and easy to mount, with smaller screens that are harder to spot across a busy lobby. Kind Kiosk also rents devices at $149 to $299 per device per event, which beats buying outright if you only need hardware for one gala a season.

Purpose-built lobby kiosks: $999 to $1,499. MOHID's kiosk costs $999 plus a $25 monthly per-device fee that is waived when donors cover fees (mohid.net/pricing, verified June 2026). Donatefy charges $1,199 (donatefy.org, verified June 2026) and GivingFire $1,499 (givingfire.com, verified June 2026). Givebear's donation kiosk sits in this tier: a 21.5 inch touchscreen at $699 wall-mounted, or $899 on a weighted floor stand with a 4-hour battery for events, paid once with free US shipping.

Enterprise configurations: $1,199 to $5,799. SecureGive's kiosks span $1,199 to $5,799 (securegive.com/pricing, verified June 2026) depending on screen size and mount. The top of that range buys a large freestanding unit, not better payment capability: a $1,199 kiosk and a $5,799 kiosk accept the same tap.

Quote-gated. Donorbox sells hardware bundles for Live Kiosk but publishes no prices anywhere on its site. Budget for it only after you have a written quote.

What do kiosk software subscriptions cost per month?

This is where three-year budgets are won or lost, because the subscription usually outgrows the device. Sorted low to high, verified June 2026:

  • $0: Givebear requires no monthly software fee for its kiosk, and GivingFire offers a bring-your-own-hardware plan with no monthly fee.
  • $30 to $59.99: iChessed.
  • $35 per device: tiptap (tiptappay.com/pricing, verified June 2026).
  • $49: Donatefy.
  • $49 or $149: Kind Kiosk's Community plan is $49 per month with additional devices at $19 per month each; Growth is $149 per month.
  • $80: Donorbox Live Kiosk is $80 per month for the first kiosk ($50 on its Premium plan) and $15 per month for each additional kiosk (donorbox.org/live-kiosk, verified June 2026).
  • $99 or $199: MOHID's Basic plan is $99 per month and Professional $199 per month on annual billing ($109 and $219 month to month), plus the $25 per-device fee unless donor-pay is enabled.
  • $149 or $299: SecureGive's Basic plan is $149 per month and Premium $299 per month, with add-on modules running another $49 to $300 per month on top.

For scale: a $149 monthly subscription costs $5,364 over 36 months, about four and a half times the price of SecureGive's entry kiosk. The device is rarely the number that hurts.

What fees come out of each gift?

Card processing exists at every vendor; the question is what gets stacked on top of it.

  • Kind Kiosk charges a 3% platform fee plus Stripe's 2.7% in-person rate, which its own pricing page totals at 5.7% combined on cards (kindkiosk.com/pricing, verified June 2026). A $100 tap costs $5.70 before payout.
  • Donorbox charges a 1.75% platform fee on kiosk gifts plus Stripe in-person processing of 2.7% + $0.05, or 4.45% + $0.05 combined (donorbox.org/pricing and donorbox.org/live-kiosk, verified June 2026). Its online forms run 1.75% to 3.95% depending on the features used.
  • SecureGive publishes kiosk card processing of 2% + $0.30, dropping to 1.5% on its Premium plan (securegive.com/pricing, verified June 2026). No separate platform percentage is listed; you buy the lower rate with the higher subscription.
  • MOHID publishes a donor-pay card rate of 3.32% + $0.32, which donors cover when donor-pay is enabled (mohid.net/pricing, verified June 2026).
  • tiptap publishes only the $35 monthly device fee; with processing included, the effective per-gift cost approaches 5% (approximate; no nonprofit discount is published).
  • iChessed and Donatefy publish no transaction fees at all. Get them in writing before you compare anything.
  • Givebear charges a 0% platform fee when donors add a tip; when a donor declines, the free plan's kiosk rate of 4.9% applies to that gift instead. Stripe's in-person card processing of 2.7% + $0.05 is passed through at cost (stripe.com/pricing), with no markup.

Percentages feel abstract until you multiply. At $4,000 a month in kiosk volume, every 1% of platform fee costs $480 a year and $1,440 over three years.

Is there a donation kiosk with no monthly fee?

Yes, with precision worth spelling out. Two of the nine vendors can truthfully make the claim:

  • Givebear sells the kiosk as one-time hardware ($699 to $899) with no required monthly software fee. The software, fund routing, donor records, and receipts are included; paid plans exist but are optional. Givebear's full pricing in one sentence: $0/month with a 0% platform fee when donors tip (4.9% when a donor declines, one flat rate online, at kiosks, and on memberships), plus Stripe card processing at cost. The details are on the pricing page.
  • GivingFire offers a bring-your-own-hardware plan with no monthly fee; its own purpose-built kiosk is $1,499 one-time (givingfire.com, verified June 2026).

Watch for two patterns that look like "no monthly fee" but are not. First, waived device fees: MOHID waives its $25 per-device monthly fee when donor-pay is on, but the $99 to $199 platform subscription remains. Second, free software tiers that exclude kiosks: a vendor's $0 online-giving plan often does not cover a physical device, which arrives with its own per-device subscription.

And no kiosk is ever free to operate: card networks and processors take their cut of every gift regardless of vendor. "No monthly fee" means no fixed cost while the kiosk sits idle, which matters most for seasonal givers (a mosque's Ramadan surge, a church's Christmas season) where a $149 subscription runs all twelve months but the volume arrives in two.

What does three years cost at $4,000 a month?

Assume one lobby kiosk processing $4,000 a month at an average gift of $40: that is 100 gifts a month, 3,600 gifts and $144,000 over 36 months. Here is the worked total for four vendors with enough published pricing to model, using Kind Kiosk's $599 device on its $49 Community plan, SecureGive's $1,199 entry kiosk on its $149 Basic plan, and Donorbox's standard $80 software (hardware excluded because it is quote-gated):

Three-year cost at $4,000/moGivebearKind KioskSecureGiveDonorbox
Hardware$699 (wall unit)$599$1,199Not published
Software, 36 months$0$1,764$5,364$2,880
Platform fee on $144,000$0 with donor tips$4,320 (3%)None published$2,520 (1.75%)
Card processing on $144,000$4,068 (2.7% + $0.05)$3,888 (2.7%)$3,960 (2% + $0.30)$4,068 (2.7% + $0.05)
Total$699 + $4,068$10,571$10,523$9,468 + hardware quote

What the table shows:

  • Hardware is the smallest lever. The $600 gap between Kind Kiosk's and SecureGive's devices is noise next to the $3,600 gap in their subscriptions.
  • Platform fees compound quietly. Kind Kiosk's 5.7% combined rate takes $8,208 of the $144,000 across platform fee and processing, the largest per-gift bite in the table.
  • Buying a lower rate has a breakeven. SecureGive's Premium plan drops processing to 1.5%, saving $720 on this volume while adding $5,400 in subscription. The upgrade only pays for itself above roughly $30,000 a month in kiosk volume.
  • Givebear's fixed cost is the device. The one-time wall unit price is the entire fixed cost over three years; the $4,068 is Stripe's processing, which donors at every Stripe-based vendor generate too. If every donor declined to tip, the free plan's kiosk rate of 4.9% would apply to those gifts instead of 0%.

What should you ask before signing?

Five questions separate the published price from the real one:

  1. What is the all-in per-gift percentage? Ask for platform fee plus processing as a single number, the way Kind Kiosk's page states 5.7% combined. Vendors that publish no transaction fees (iChessed, Donatefy) should put theirs in writing before you compare.
  2. Is the monthly fee per organization or per device? Donorbox adds $15 and Kind Kiosk $19 per month for each extra device. A three-kiosk lobby on Donorbox runs $110 a month, not $80.
  3. Which features are add-on modules? SecureGive's add-ons run $49 to $300 a month on top of the base subscription. Confirm the features in the demo are in the tier you are quoted.
  4. Is the quoted price annual or monthly billing? MOHID's $99 and $199 plans are annual-billing prices; month to month they are $109 and $219.
  5. What happens to the hardware if the vendor disappears? DipJar's shutdown in early 2025 left thousands of organizations with devices that stopped working within weeks. Hardware built on a standard like Stripe Terminal has a future outside any one vendor; fully proprietary devices do not.

Before you move on

  • Price the full stack (device, subscription, platform fee, processing): the cheapest device with a 3% platform fee can out-cost a pricier device with none inside three years.

  • Get per-device monthly fees and add-on module pricing in writing; SecureGive add-ons run $49 to $300 per month, and extra devices cost $15 to $19 per month at Donorbox and Kind Kiosk.

  • Model your own volume before signing: at $4,000 a month, every 1% of platform fee costs $1,440 over three years.

How much does a donation kiosk cost in 2026?

Verified June 2026 pricing from nine vendors runs $129 to $5,799 for hardware and $0 to $299 per month for software, with combined per-gift fees between roughly 2 and 5.7 percent. Most purpose-built lobby kiosks cost $999 to $1,499 one-time. Quotes far above that usually come from general-purpose kiosk manufacturers, not donation vendors.

Are there donation kiosks with no monthly fee?

Yes. Givebear sells its kiosk as a one-time hardware purchase with no required monthly software fee, and GivingFire offers a bring-your-own-hardware plan with no monthly charge. Read no-monthly-fee claims carefully: card processing still applies per gift at every vendor, and some vendors waive only a device fee while keeping the platform subscription.

How much does the Donorbox kiosk cost?

Donorbox Live Kiosk software is $80 per month for the first kiosk ($50 on Premium) and $15 per month for each additional kiosk, plus a 1.75 percent platform fee and Stripe in-person processing of 2.7 percent plus $0.05, verified June 2026. Hardware bundle prices are not published anywhere; you have to contact Donorbox sales for a quote.

What transaction fees do donation kiosks charge?

Most vendors stack a platform fee on card processing. Verified June 2026 examples: Kind Kiosk charges 3 percent plus Stripe's 2.7 percent (5.7 percent combined on cards), Donorbox charges 1.75 percent plus 2.7 percent and $0.05, and SecureGive charges 2 percent plus $0.30 on kiosk cards (1.5 percent on Premium). iChessed and Donatefy publish no transaction fees at all, so ask for them in writing before signing.
